Kelsall FC has made it to the Life Members Cup (LMC) Final after a thrilling penalty shootout victory against Lache FC in the semi-finals. The match, which took place this past weekend, ended 2-2 after 90 minutes, sending the game to penalties, where Kelsall emerged victorious, winning 4-3 and securing a place in the final.

The semi-final was a fierce battle, with both teams putting everything on the line. Kelsall showed incredible resilience, especially after Lache FC equalised twice during the game. The match saw end-to-end action, with both teams demonstrating excellent attacking play and solid defending.

Kelsall started strong with a header from Louis Clark, putting the team 1-0 up. Lache quickly responded with an equaliser to level the game at 1-1. Just after the break, Kelsall came roaring back. Mikey Taylor danced past the right back and squared the ball across the box for Louis Clark, who made no mistake in scoring his second of the match, putting Kelsall 2-1 ahead. However, Lache responded swiftly again, firing in a second equaliser to level things up at 2-2.

With no further goals in the 90 minutes, the match was decided by a dramatic penalty shootout. Kelsall goalkeeper Andy Walker was the hero, pulling off some fantastic saves throughout the match, and then saving two penalties in the shootout to help take Kelsall into the final. His coolness under pressure was key to the team’s success, and his performance ensured the victory, securing Kelsall’s place in the final.

Kelsall FC’s last cup final victory came in 2011, when they triumphed 3-2 after extra time over Highfield Athletic FC in the Exacta Stadium. The win remains a cherished memory for the club, and the team is eager to bring the Life Members Cup back to Kelsall after a long wait.

Mersey Royal Vets, who triumphed 4-1 over Higher Bebington Kelma FC, will now face Kelsall in the final, promising an exciting showdown for the Life Members Cup.

Kelsall FC’s players and coaching staff are determined to bring the Life Members Cup back to Kelsall, with a strong and supportive crowd expected at the final.
